Richard Kent Thompson Scholarship

The Richard Kent Thompson Scholarship Fund (“The Fund”) was established to honor the memory of Richard Kent Thompson, an advocate for the minerals industry and the legal and land professions and a long-time member and supporter of the Nevada Landmen’s Association (“NLA”).  The Fund is closely affiliated with the NLA, has similar bylaws and shares officers and directors as appropriate.  The Fund was formed for the charitable and educational purpose of awarding financial grants-in-aid to individuals either working in the minerals industry or seeking to work in the minerals industry, in order to assist them in the pursuit of educational advancement.  It was incorporated as a stand-alone non-profit corporation in January, 2016 and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity exempt from federal income tax.  Donations to The Fund can be deducted from the donor’s income taxes and checks should be made out to the RKT Scholarship Fund and mailed to P.O. Box 21351, Reno, Nevada 89515
